A setting for six parts, which then becomes five parts. I wrote this to honor my parents, Clara Cooper Chalmer, z”l, and Bertram Chalmer, z”l. The occasion was my father’s 90th birthday.
As I explain in the first of the two recordings below, the six parts were written so as to bring my generation (my two older brothers, myself, and our three wives) into the piece in the order in which we entered the family. Our children than joined us for the remainder of the piece.
My father died in 2012 at the age of 95, and mother died in 2017, also at the age of 95. Zichronam livracha.
